ANGIER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Newton, MA

Angier Elementary School in Newton, MA, was replaced on its original 1.97-acre site. The new design accommodates the sloped land near the MBTA tracks. The school features a Beacon Street plaza, serving as an outdoor gathering space and classroom. This landscaped area creates an attractive and functional interface with the street, with separate drop-off zones for buses and cars. The administration area is strategically placed at the entrance, overseeing the plaza and central school activities. The compact, efficient layout offers beneficial views and optimal solar orientation. The cafeteria is well-situated next to play areas, the stage, and music rooms. Kindergarten classrooms are on the second floor, with grades 1 and 2. The new school is aesthetically pleasing, supporting education and community engagement.
